Back From Mecca

After more than a month of performing the pilgrimage, the pilgrims have now returned home.


Tradition after the pilgrimage, there are times when they want to hold a banquet (walimah) upon their return from performing the fifth pillar of Islam.

As usual, there are three traditions when citizens perform the pilgrimage. That is before leaving, during the pilgrimage and after returning home.

Before leaving, prospective pilgrims generally held a salvation by inviting all relatives including neighbors, in a joint prayer led by a local cleric.

The joint prayer activity aims as an expression of gratitude that not all people who have wealth and health can perform the Hajj.

When prospective pilgrims when worshiping, joint prayers do continue, especially during Friday nights. The aim is that the pilgrim candidates can run smoothly in worship in Mecca there.

Even so when the pilgrims go home, prayer together with salvation is also done as an expression of gratitude the procession of worship to complete the pillars of religion has been completed.

It was also carried out by Crew members of Kradenan, H Siswanto and Hj Nur Dwi Jamilah, who had finished worshiping in the holy city of Mecca. The husband and wife had just finished fulfilling their obligations to improve the pillars of Islam.

Neighbors also come in to prepare a meal that will be served for guests. Sugiyo, one of the residents of Krajan village, said that if the banquet after the general pilgrimage is done by them to establish silaturohmi.

"Usually it's like that, after the Hajj, gather together and eat together. It was the same before leaving like that, ”said Sugiyo.

Sugiyo said that if the community together during the feast after the Hajj is a form of harmony between residents.

Meanwhile, H Siswanto expressed his gratitude for the prayers that he always offered during his pilgrimage.

"Yes, I would like to thank all of you, who continue to pray for me and my wife, so that for 43 days in Mecca the city will run smoothly," said H Siswanto.
